Co-sponsored by the First UMC – Cary, Inclusive & Affirming Methodists (I+AM) group, and Saint Francis UMC, this interactive seminar will be led by Angel Collie, Director of Duke’s Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity. Topics will include: understanding key terms and pronouns used in the LGBTQIA+ community; current NC laws that impact the LGBTQIA+ community; LGBTQIA+ historical background with key dates and events; resources currently available to the LGBTQIA+ community; and how churches/synagogues, groups, individuals and our community can support members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
The March 22 seminar will take place in our Multi-Purpose Room and runs from 9 am to 12:30 pm.
