The Capital District cordially invites you to attend a Prison Ministry Workshop presented by Cross and Key Prison Ministries.
The workshop will take place on Sunday, July 28, at First United Methodist Church in Cary, 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm, Building A in the Fellowship Hall.
Clergy and laity are encouraged to attend, so please invite family and friends. During this workshop, you will learn about opportunities for prison ministry, the steps for starting a prison ministry, and ways you and your church can become involved. In addition, you will learn about the need for prison ministry, our Christian theology as it relates to prison ministry, and the UMC’s long history of prison ministry within the Wesleyan tradition.
Cross and Key Prison Ministries is a cooperative ministry of the NC and the Western NC Conferences with the vision of “Ministry to the incarcerated: Working for a more just society.” Its mission is threefold: 1) Equip churches for prison ministry; 2) Educations on criminal justice issues; 3) Advocacy for reform. What a beautiful way to serve within the kingdom of God.
