Join us for the launch of The Well Mental and Spiritual Care, a new nonprofit practice of therapy, counseling, and spiritual direction at Edenton Street United Methodist Church.
On Thursday, January 25, 2024, at 7 pm in Kerr Hall at ESUMC in downtown Raleigh, we’ll welcome guest speaker Dr. Warren Kinghorn, a psychiatrist and theological ethicist who teaches at Duke University Medical Center and Duke Divinity School, who practices at the Durham VA Medical Center, and who co-directs the Theology, Medicine, and Culture Initiative at Duke Divinity School. His work focuses on the intersections of Christian faith and mental health care, on the theological dimensions of trauma and moral injury, and on the role of therapeutic relationships in psychiatric prescribing. He’ll be sharing with us about the state of mental health care and his hopes for the ways the church can support mental health in communities.
