The Capital District is blessed to have many spaces for lay people not elected by their local churches to be members of the NC Annual Conference to still serve as lay members at Annual Conference which will meet this coming June 16-18. Our Discipline requires that an equal number of lay and clergy people be elected; we always have space for additional lay people because of the number of retired and other clergy we have in our membership.
If you or a lay person you know would like to be considered for a nomination to be a lay member of the 2021 NC Annual Conference, please send that name and contact information to Roxie Lee Floyd (one of our District Co-Lay Leaders at roxilee431@gmail.com ) or Gray Southern (grays@nccumc.org) Each district’s lay leader(s) and DS will submit a list of nominees to the NC Board of the Laity who will elect the actual additional lay members of Annual Conference.
