You’ll often hear me quote Paul’s words to the Philippians (and to us), thanking them/us for our “partnership in the Gospel from the first day until now” (Philippians 1:5), but on Sunday afternoon, April 23, you exceeded yourselves!
IMPACT was a great afternoon – from the witnesses sharing missional opportunities, to the break-out sessions, to the food (!), to the team leading worship, to the gathering of kits, Bishop Ward’s message, and all the fellowship and fun: WELL DONE!
Our celebration of mission together reminds me that we are truly stronger knit together for Jesus than we could ever be apart. The strength of being connected for Jesus is one of our hallmarks as Methodists, as well as, one of the gifts we offer a broken and divided world.
Many thanks to all those who made IMPACT possible: the participants, the musicians from The Pilgrimage House Band, the District Mission Strategy team, and most certainly Claire Cox-Woodlief! Well done!
AND . . . partnering in ministry, sharing leadership and resources is no better evidenced on the morning that we announce future appointment changes. That happened on the morning of April 23. Another big thank-you to all the PPRCs and pastors who have participated and opened themselves so fully to the call of God. Bless you all. We will celebrate your ministries later this spring and summer, but know that I pray for each of you and I invite the rest of The Capital District to join me in those prayers.
I agree with Paul in those words he sent the Philippians: “I thank my God for you!”
Grace and peace,
