C4C Coordinators – Capital and Corridor Districts
(cc: Capital District Pastors)
A workshop for C4C coordinators from the Capital and Corridor Districts of the United Methodist Church will be held at Epworth United Methodist Church on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 from 12:00 noon to 3:00 PM. The focus areas will be K-3 Literacy (tutoring programs), basic needs (backpack programs), and C4C plans.
The keynote speaker will be Debbie McCarthy, Director of the Augustine Literacy Program. The keynote will be followed by existing programs and churches without programs dividing into workshop sessions. Existing programs will have the opportunity to improve their work through break-out groups led by panelists currently operating tutoring and backpack programs. Churches without existing programs will be assisted by district coordinators to create a plan.
This is a great opportunity for C4C coordinators of the Capital and Corridor Districts to share ideas, discuss best practices, build on school/church partnerships, enhance community outreach and/or start a program. Please mark your calendars for this exciting opportunity.
You are asked to pre-register for the workshop/forum by March 22, 2016. A small registration fee of $10.00 paid in advance is needed to pre-register (lunch included). Please complete the enclosed registration form and return to C4C Coordinators, Epworth United Methodist Church, 3002 Hope Valley Road, Durham, NC 27707.
